Adulthood

AdULTHOOD_Landscape_PosterB.jpg

Adrian's latest film poster for All City Media is Adulthood, Noel Clark's directorial debut about youth culture on a Notting Hill Council estate. You may have seen the images on Tube stations and phone boxes around London.

Adulthood_phoneB.jpgAll City Media's Creative Director Pete Hanson approached Adrian to shoot the poster and had a clear idea of how he wanted the image to look and feel. The brief was to shoot in the studio with the actors and to then bring together several different components for the final image.

"We decided to shoot the actors individually so that we could have the flexibility to move the group around for the final image. Pete had a selection of background sunset shots that had been approved so we had a rough idea where the sunlight would be coming from. We then created the wall in the studio with a series of blocks so the actors could sit or crouch against them. The idea was to keep the lighting as simple as possible to make life as easy for the retouching after." Adrian then shot a variety of different textures for the wall and floor. The floor was relatively easy to shoot as he used the studio's concrete floor and for the wall textures Adrian went to several different council estates around London to get a variety of textures.
